[26-0050] I have a silver or silver plated goblet, hope the pictures come out OK (thanks to my 12 year old for fixing these!). I would love to know where it is from, and how old it is. It has no markings except for what seem like small diamond shaped punch marks on the stem. I have not seen another in this shape. Is it even silver? There are some areas which look stained, is this the base metal showing through or will they clean off? Have used normal silver polish only. Thank you for any help. I would love to have my mystery solved. IP: Logged |

Your picture did not post. Try again. Also, is the diamond punch rounded on any of its corners. Does it contain any letters inside of it, specifically and R with a raised, smaller D? Tom IP: Logged |

Thanks for the replies,I am trying again with the photos by another method and will post them when they're done. As for the punch marks, they are a slightly rounded diamond shape but very random, some of the diamonds are more like dents. Even my overactive imagination cannot make out anything inside them and I cannot make my camera take a decent close-up photo as they are so small. The whole goblet stands about 20cm tall and the punch marks are just over 1mm across. Hope this helps, photos on their way Claire IP: Logged |

Here are the photos. I hope someone can give me some idea of where my goblet comes from, how old it is and whether it might be silver or silver plate. I think the shape is really elegant and I haven't seen another one quite like it. With thanks Claire IP: Logged |
