I bought two silver pieces at a thrift store. I'm not interested in their value as I find them pretty and couldn't pass them up for a buck each. I am however curious about who made them and possibly how old they may be. I can post pictures later. In the mean time one has a shield then a lion. There could have been something else, but half of it is pretty worn. It says CROSBY above the symbols and Silver Plated below. The next piece is stamped with HMC. It says Avon Silverplate below it. On the opposite side it says Italy. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks! IP: Logged |

This section of the forum is for silver items - you might do better if you ask the moderator to transfer your posting over to the silverplate section of the forum which is where people who are interested in plated items tend to frequent. There is no guarantee that you will find what you are seeking over there though, since information on silverplate manufacturers tends to be spotty since unlike silver there hasn't been much in the way government controls on marking of it.
