I have a strange knife with mother of pearl(?) handle. The marks are in a square H, F, six-pointed star, S. Then sideways EP. Would anyone know where it was made and approximate age? I would appreciate knowing something about this. The side without the marking is heavily engraved. IP: Logged |

waltermae, these handsome little knives were made with sterling or silver plated blades and unless one of the members recognizes the HFS it is just one of hundreds of companys that made EP (electro plated, i.e. silver plate) IP: Logged |

Is the mark on the blade or on little silver part of the handle? To further confuse matters, there are companies that only made knife blades. Which were then attached to other makers' handles. A picture would help us clear this up. How long is the knive? What is the shape of the blade? Is there a sharp edge to the blade? IP: Logged |
