Hi, Is this called a salver? Can anyone identify the British marks on this please? I took photos of the hallmark in different positions because I really don't know which way to read it. My grandmother used this to display her crystal cordials. Thank you. Michelle

Yes, this can be called salver. The marks (they are not hallmarks - see this FAQ for an explanation), probably a trade mark, are those of an English silver plater, possibly W.W.Harrison of Sheffield. Yes, It most certainly is a salver, which is just a fancy name for a tray. I will work on the hallmarks and let you know what I find. Good Luck, Chris IP: Logged |
