A Genie lamp stamp above the following: R&B S (not Gothic) 2 symbols the first I can't make out the second is a Gothic B BM I,m trying to find the makers name and date of manufacture. I thought it might have been Reed & Barton. IP: Logged
Dale Posts: 2132 Registered: Nov 2002	posted 02-14-2005 10:37 PM On old silverplate, R&B is the mark of Rogers and Brothers. Reed & Barton used their full name or Arnbee. I am not sure what a genie lamp is. Could you possibly post a picture? This sounds like a 19th century hair curling iron heater, but could be lots of other things. IP: Logged
Silver Lyon Posts: 363 Registered: Oct 2004	posted 02-16-2005 01:31 PM If the lamp has a flame coming from its nozzle, the likleyhood is that the mark is of an English manufacturer, ROBERTS & BELK as the lamp is their trade-mark. They started in the 1860's and are still in existence. IP: Logged
