I purchased a silver pitcher at a sale today and it has markings on the bottom I cannot identify. On the bottom it has a crown, then a castle? or fireplace? then an eagles head. It has in square blocks the letter either Q or O...then C then a 5 or S can't tell which. Then it has what looks to be a C with a small upside down c inside of it. Below it has a 20-C0. It appears to be hammered silver on the inside but not the outside. The outside has a raised (chased) design which is on both sides of the picture and it is made up of a church at top,a house with arched walk across bridge in front of it,then in the yard there is a cow laying and some swans and the rest is covered richly with flowers. The bottom has a sort of basket weave design as well as having some of this on the handle along with flowers. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! IP: Logged |
