This sugar and creamer in dated patened Oct 27 1903 and is pattern? 80 M F D & Plated by Reed & Barton. It appears to be silver plated and shows some wear and of course tarnish. I have found nothing else and have not found it listed anywhere. I have had it about 30 years and polished it but was afraid to do much more for fear of removing the last of the silver? It has sat in room air for much of this time, it also has a monogram and had considered getting it replated but not sure what to do re the monogram which is not mine, lol. Should I just leave it alone? IP: Logged |

To answer your questions we really need to see pictures. Reed and Barton made many holloware patterns over the years. But a picture is essential. The 80 is probably a stock number but could be a measure of volume. Dimensions help a lot. On monograms, R&B did a great deal of commercial silver in this period. It may refer to a rail road or hotel. Again, a picture is essential. IP: Logged |
