Today I am writing to see if anyone can help with an ID for a piece of what seems to be stamped and pierced silverplate ---- maker? or country of origin even? This cake plate (I think) was one of many items my mother bought at the Hadassah shop in New Haven, CT, when she went to visit my grandparents, and it was her favorite. She always wanted to know more about it, but we were not able figure it out. Maybe today will finally turn up some information. Here it is: first seen sitting on a huge round platter (another Hadassah find), then from the top, and the bottom.
Two mark images: first to show some perspective as to its miniature size (on the outside on the base) and then the best I could get of the mark, which seems to be either W & Co or M & Co.
Thanks to all who look and especially anyone with a thought as to who might have made this and where. Elizabeth IP: Logged |
