Hello all, Here are some nice old salad forks with a marks I have never encountered before. The pattern is BERLIN, patented in 1899. Hagan lists it under American Silver Co, with "1897 Butler Bros." being another back stamp found with this pattern. These, however are marked with an acorn trademark followed by "ROGERS & WOOD CO. A.1.". With all the different Rogers companies that made and sold silverplate, I still can't find any information about this company. Does anyone know? Brent IP: Logged |

Rogers & Wood Co incorporated 1900 Northampton, Masschusetts. In the company's advertisement at that time, the acorn is between the two names, and the ampersand looks as though it was typed on the acorn. US Pat. Thanks, Bascall! Any ideas as to the principals of the company? There were certainly plenty of Rogers', and quite a few Woods in the silver business. Brent IP: Logged |

The president was Edward E Wood Jr, the secretary was Wilbur H Gaines, and the treasurer was George F Rogers. [This message has been edited by bascall (edited 04-17-2011).] IP: Logged |
