The following is the mark on a pair of Silver candlesticks. Can anyone ID this Mark for me?? Thank you.

You items are most likely silverplated alpacca from the large Swedish manufacturer C.G. Hallberg. Alpacca is basically a type of whitemetal with nickel content. You can find earlier discussions of this metal by using the forum's SEARCH function. I recall reading a claim that items marked 'ALP' may be just that i.e. alpacca without silverplating and Swedish silverplated holloware seems generally to be marked 'NS'; so I don't know. If you can, please, post a picture of an entire stick. That might help clear up any remaining questions. IP: Logged |
