I have a silver quadruple plate candelabra marked "Manufactured and Guaranteed by Middletown Silver Company 027 Quadruple" It holds five candles, has removable silver wax guards and the arms are beautiful S twists. I would like to know the possible date and value and where I could get more information about the Middletown Silver Company. thanks a lot,. Thank you, ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hi there Mary, From "Encyclopedia of Silver Mfgs", by Rainwater, fourth revised edition pg 219 I got the following information: The Middletown Plate Company of Middletown CT was started in 1864 and was purchased by the International silver Co. in 1899 Some of the old employees of the firm started the Middletown Silver Co. of which your candelabra is a product. We are not supposed to give values on this site, but if you run your piece to a local show or a shop, they may be able to give you an idea of what it is worth. Hope this helps.
