Brent Posts: 1507 Registered: May 99	posted 07-05-2004 09:59 PM Helo Chris, It sounds like your piece was made by the American Sterling Co., which often abbreviated American to AM'N on pieces of flatware. They were in business from about 1871 to 1880. Unfortunately, The American Sterling Company only made plated silver, which is very confusing. I often see pieces of plate by them being sold as sterling, because it does say sterling on them. I hope this helps! Brent IP: Logged
