Can anyone tell me if Alvin ever used a stamp that was " AM'N " ? Or does anyone know what company may have used those letters for their stamp? Thanks for anything anyone can share. IP: Logged |

Helo Chris, It sounds like your piece was made by the American Sterling Co., which often abbreviated American to AM'N on pieces of flatware. They were in business from about 1871 to 1880. Unfortunately, The American Sterling Company only made plated silver, which is very confusing. I often see pieces of plate by them being sold as sterling, because it does say sterling on them. I hope this helps! Brent IP: Logged |
