The tray above is silver plated and is stamped twice on the top right next to the edge with a mark I cannot make out. The mark is cursive “someone and someone” with the first name starting with a K. At the end of the mark are the block letters MP. These may be the initials of the journeyman that finished the tray. IP: Logged |

Roberts & Slater, Sheffield, 1845-59 - the 'MP' most likely stands for 'Magneto-Plate'. ~Cheryl IP: Logged |

Thanks Cheryl, I would never have found that maker. The tray is older than I thought and I never heard of magneto plate before. I guess it was an early term for electroplate. We have had this tray a long time and it is a convenient size for lots of uses. IP: Logged |
