Hello everyone! Does anyone recognize this pattern- cherub? head terminals with twisted stem. Unmarked probably silverplate or maybe coin. And are they egg spoons? At 4.5" in length they are a tad short aren't they? Or maybe they aren't even American but continental and are demitasse spoons. And they are a bit creepy. Thanks!

Cute! Are they demitasse spoons from German-speaking Europe? I don't know why I think that. IP: Logged |

Thanks Polly. Sounds good to me. They do look a little Germanic in their creepiness I think. Thanks for the reply! IP: Logged |

Your spoons seem to me to be art deco inspired and an Egyptian motif medallion would seem to be more in order than a cherub. I have seen some cherub incorporated into art deco designs, but I think it is harder to accomplish successfully. Interesting spoons that I would think were egg spoons, but could be used as demitasse spoons also. If they have a gold wash on the bowl I would think they started out as egg spoons. IP: Logged |

Thank you ahwt for your input. I appreciate it. I agree there is something vaguely Egyptian about the medallions. Thank you, [This message has been edited by nautilusjv (edited 03-23-2017).] IP: Logged |
