Hello to you all,

Considering this object I put a ? for this one. The meaning is of course that this one fits upon a glass. But my question about this one: is this made for to make tea or perhaps hot chocolate. When they used it for to make hot chocolate, they filled the glass and put the boiled milk through the strainer holder and mixed it with the cacao and sugar in the glass.

I hope I'm right. The initials are looks rather old to me but I don't have a idea about the age of this one. There is a mark stamp which shows the letter W, and more I can't read. I read the initials of the letters E and V,please correct me if I'm wrong. I will date this one about around 1900. It's used a lot and there are no silver marks on it, so perhaps it is electro plated or silvered?

I send a few photo's with the topic.

You have only the middle part of a coffee maker, missing here is the lid and (the lower part) coffee pot, when the coffee is made, the middle part is removed and the lid fits the coffe pot - examples made in china are called "Karlsbader Kaffeemaschine", I have a French example in silver-gilt, end of 19th century, and I know Viennese examples exist even as early as 1820.

DB and WEV,
I've read your reactions and saw the beautiful pictures about the sets.

Nice to have such one's. With more concentration, good light and lenses I see know more information about the mark. For instance I see a shield at the right of the letter W.

It looks like there are three towers placed in the shield. Perhaps I can find more indications. At the inside there are vertical scratches to find I think they are made by the stamper(I hope I use the right worth)to stamp the coffee to the bottom.

Can you tell me please if the initials look like the same (style) which were used into the 1820/1830?

I bought this one on Saturday at a market in Rotterdam. I think I draw the mark with the letter W and hope to give still more information about this one.

It is 3 inches high, 2.6 inches wide and the ear is 1.6 in length.

The total weight is 120 grams.

I send the drawing so fast as possible it should be interesting to know in which countries or town this one was made.

I'm glad with both information and thanks a lot!

Sorry, I placed to wrong photo, this one is the bigger and I hope a better photo to recognize the mark.

I hope somebody knows this one?

You have to look well to recognize the three (castle)towers in combination with the letter W. At the left there was perhaps also a letter?

Thanks
silverhunter.
