Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum so please bare with me if you feel I've described wrongly etc. Could anyone identify this mark on a pair of Salad Servers? I think it is John Round and Son of Sheffield. It has J R & S then a Crown, but nothing else. They are printed in the Gothic Style. Is it a silver mark? Thank you. IP: Logged |

Hi liverpool1! You may be correct in your identification of your servers, however it would certainly help if you could post a photo of the servers & the mark to be of more accurate help. It would also help if you would please introduce yourself & tell of of your interest in silver & the reason for your query. We'd just like to know a little something about the person we are talking too. Like at a party......."getting to know you" always helps. From the other side of the Pond Jersey IP: Logged |

Hi. Sorry, forgot to introduce myself. I'm John and I've picked up a few pieces of silver at auctions etc. Mainly because I like the look of them. Now I have some time on my hands, I thought I'd look at them more closely and learn a bit more. IP: Logged |

Welcome to the silver forum, John! Some nice clear photos - of the overall salad servers and closeup the of markings really are essential. There are many makers and retailers who have marked silver with very similar looking markings and without seeing the marks the best anyone can do is guess. IP: Logged |
