hi does anybody know what a marking on a silver tankard, cup is cant find it any where. the only way i can describe it is its like an aerugo (circle with cross inside)a crown sitting on top. also a tiny cross in top left quarter section of cross.on the outside left is a v on the right is an R and underneath is a 2. on the other side of cup is a cs in a scroll type writing next to a pint sign. this has a lovely decorative design going round circumference or bottom and top of cup.not 100%sure but looks like could have a anchor type symbol under bottom of cup too.has the name A W BIRD SCROLLED ON IT I ASSUME MAY BE A PERSON TO WHOM IT WAS AWARDED ALTHOUGH AGAIN NOT SURE,thank any help much apprechiated IP: Logged |
