I have three items I need identifying. 1) A silver looking fork with the mark of "16"space"A.H. SMITH" on it. I cannot find anything about this. The 16, if turned upside down could look like a 91- not sure. 2-3) A silver looking platter and sugar spoon. Both have the mark "o", and nothing else. Does anyone have any idea on who made these items and if they are sterling or silver plated. Sorry can't post picture now, camera is broken. Thank you for your help- Chuck the AGgie IP: Logged |

Hi Chuck, and welcome to the forum. If you would please take a look at the yellow box above and see where it asks new folks to please introduce themselves a bit such as are you a collector or seller or curator or smith or such, and then say a bit about why you are interested in learning about your silver objects that would help in encouraging people to provide you with the information you are seeking. Also, photos really are a must - mainly since there are so many markings that are similar along with the situation that at least 80 percent of identification comes from seeing the object while the markings are only a small part. Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you. Regards, [This message has been edited by Kimo (edited 02-28-2011).] IP: Logged |
