We’re in a quandary over the designer of this unusual Fahrner pendant we just added to our collection and wonder if any of you can help with identification.

It’s cast in three pieces, each including chrysoprase cabochons, as well as matching plique-a-jour panels at the top. It has the typical TF/935/Depose stamp on the back and some seemingly indecipherable cast-in letters just above. In addition, there are some pretty clear French import marks near the top left link next to the plique.

One well known Britain based Art & Crafts jewelry dealer we know suggested C F Morawe, but were thinking Ludwig Knupfer due to the use of cabochons and plique as well as the organic shape. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I could be wrong but to me there is something not right about this piece. It looks like it may have been made up. Does anyone feel the same?

The chain and then a long piece as another link seem inconsistent.

You guys aren’t the first to suggest it was put together, but the consensus is not unanimous. A close-up of the back of the center piece shows molded-in extensions that were clearly made for something to attach to. See the area I highlighted below.

It’s clearly an earlier piece whose components are Fahrner. Whether they were made to be assembled together, who knows? I personally think they were, but agree that it does have a weird look.
