I wish to post a thank you to those who contribute their time to maintain this site. It is a wealth of information. Although I like silver in general in the past few years I have found myself drawn more toward antique figural pieces. About 18 years ago I saw a picture of a flatware pattern in a Martha Stewart cookbook that I fell in love with. I searched 18 years without luck finding either information on the name or manufacturer of the pattern. I began to despair, then stumbled onto your site about 6 months ago, and there it was! In great faces in silver. All 3 manufactures as well as the pattern name 'Peau de Lion'. In the last 6 months I have been able to aquire about 80 pieces. Thank you so much for your time in making my collecting experience more successful. -TammyG IP: Logged |

I am happy to see people benefit from all of the knowledge here. Congratulations on acquiring so many pieces so quickly! I also like this pattern very much. Are you going for the silver plate or the sterling variety or both? IP: Logged |

Any pieces that I can find at a reasonable price....which means mostly silverplate. I have found a few Gorham pieces that are sterling, a plate Fraget fork, and the rest Christofle plate. All the pieces are equally beautiful. I am mixing the pattern with Dominick and Haff's 1894 Renaissance and Frank W. Smith's 1903 Lion. They work nicely together. IP: Logged |
