The wedding sterling silver flatware, which I bought as a sweet young thing, has just been returned to me after lo these many years. It was purchased in Manhattan, in 1967, from the silversmith's store, maybe on Fifth Ave. When I goggled Danish Silversmiths Inc., I got no hits. Do you know if they are still in business? and if so whether they are still producing the same silverware? On one of the silver bags it says, "H. Nils Danish Silver Copenhagen New York. On the back of each piece there is a two-word cursive signature that I cannot read, followed by "Sterling Denmark. Any information anyone could supply about how to get in touch with the silversmith so as to find more pieces would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi ~ must be nice to have your silver back with you! Would be helpful to post pictures, might be able to identify the pattern for you. H. Nils was a retailer of Danish silver who opened his New York shop at 1 East 8th Street in the late '40s - suspect your pieces were made by Hans Hansen...
