I'm Dick Marti, a book dealer in south Georgia. I don't know anything about silver, so I have come here to find out something about some silver items I bought at the flea market.

I bought a set of 3 silver item at a flea market. All three are marked "Meriden B. Company" and there are marked with a scale inside a shield and the number "99". Two of the three items are marked "quadruple". My questions are these:

what does the 99 indicate?
How does one determine when these were made?
Where can one go to determine the value if that is not permitted to be asked here?
