Hi, I'm Karen and I'm trying to identify the maker of a silver coffee service. It was passed to me by my grandmother who lived to be 104. Any help would be greatly appreciated! The mark is an eagle looking to the left, wings outstretched. It is holding a scroll. The scroll is divided into 3 sections. The first section has letters "FE", the second section has "S", and the third has "CO". The letter are in Old English text style. IP: Logged |

Believe this is one of the marks of the Federal Silver Co. of NY, NY. According to Rainwater's Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers, the co. was listed from 1920-1961 as manufacturers of sterling & plated wares. --- Susan
