Hello I am a new member and I am a treasure hunter, metal detectorist and collector. I would like If I may have some information about a snuff box that I purchased at a flea market. This is 41 grams with markings of James Dixon and Sons along with EPBM. The front has a equestrian hunting theme. Anyone with any information regarding this snuff box please send me an email. I believe that this snuff box was made around 1840 or so! Thanks so much! IP: Logged |

Welcome Toni. Photos really are needed - both of the overall snuff box and a closeup of the markings. There are simple to follow steps to add photos to your posting in the yellow box above. Are you a snuff box collector or did you buy this with the plan to resell it? Why do you think this is from 1840? The marking indicates that would be too early. Kimo IP: Logged |

Welcome to the Silver Forum. A picture really is helpful in giving information about any object. One thing you can do on you own is an internet search with the words "snuff box James Dixon and Sons". Click on the images search and quite a few come up. Snuff boxes appear to have been a good seller for Dixon's company. IP: Logged |

Hello Toni, Just an FYI, the letters EPBM indicate it is Electroplated Brittania Metal. Jersey IP: Logged |
