In cleaning out my 95 year old mother's house, I found a magnificent Austro-Hungarian tea service. She bought it in the early 1950's from Hungarian refugees who came to the U.S. after World War II. I need help dating it & reading its hallmarks & would also like to know its value. The maker mark reads FT. I am a specialist in Tibetan jewelry in Manhattan, so am far afield trying to research all my mother's European, English & American silver. I would greatly appreciate some help. I have very good pictures of the tea service that I can provide via email. Thanks very much, LYNN IP: Logged |

Hi Lynn. Could you please take a moment and re-read the forum guidelines in the yellow box above? This is not a typical internet forum - it is more of a place to talk about silver rather than give opinions on values of things or be a place for pre-sale research. By reading your initial posting it sounds like you may be doing pre-sale research which is not permitted under the guidelines here. If you are not considering selling this tea service please reassure that that this is so, and then please post some photos of the overall designs and closeups of any markings. Photos are an absolute must and they need to conform to the sizing requirements that you will see by clicking on the link in the yellow box where it says "How To Post Photos (Click Here)" Best regards, IP: Logged |
