I thought I'd start a new thread for this one.
This is one of my better pieces, it's in MINT condition! smile

Initially I called it "Lady's" pattern, but I've also seen it called "Olive Branch"

Definitely one of Gorham's unusual patterns!

Seem to recall that 'Lady's' has the hand at the base of the stem, 'Olive Branch' at the terminal...

That is excellent!

I don't remember if I've ever posted my Lady's tongs (no olive branch):

those are amazing and, if I may, a little creepy! But in a good way. Something about the realistic attitude of the disembodied hands...

I'm so looking forward to tucking into a good book about Gorham to see all these weird and wonderful patterns and pieces. I wonder if there is a Gorham museum. Off to [internet search]!

The Rhode Island School of Design, (RISD) has some great Gorham in their collection that is on their website. I highly recommend you check that out! smile

Many thanks for the links. If I get to Providence this summer I'll check out the RISD collection. My best friend went to architecture school there. If I'd known then....

They actually have the silver on their website. You can look anytime! smile
And somewhere on their site, they have a few pictures and a write-up on Naragansett, I highly recommend you find that page, the pictures are really clear!
