[26-2532] Hello, I am a silver nut, mostly more concerned about marks more than items and have been collecting silver for about 50 years. One day I got curious about what some of these marks might mean and have been addicted ever since. My hobby is [looking at auctions] reading hallmarks and telling the sellers what they have. I often get very interesting reactions. I LOVE doing the research and would love to discuss these types of issues with anyone who has similar interests. I usually use Tardy, Jackson, [on-line sites], Rosenberg, Davis, etc.. I hope to hear from folks doing research. IP: Logged |

I am very pleased. It's me you're looking for. Where are you from? Which regions are your specialty? My area is Germany before 1888th. I'm sure you know my little "reference book" about german hallmarks. IP: Logged |

Hello Gimme, there are some other towns with a (N) as hallmark (Nordhausen, Neustadt a.d.Aisch, Neustadt a.d. Orla, Neersen ...) and there are also some Nurnberg fake-marks possible - IP: Logged |

It looks OK - ca. 1820 Makersmark: R in the book of Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberger Goldschmiede ... , Nr. 1049 - some makers are possible: Johann Conrad Reuter [711] (1817-1839) or Johann Raschka [688] (1814-1829) or Johann Leonhard Rösch [736] (1797-<1838) or Johann Egidus Rösch [734] (1796-<1838) IP: Logged |

there was a date-letter (B) (1769-1773) - but your spoon is about from 1820 I do not know what this letter means - the last date-letter was an O (ca.1808) IP: Logged |

Thank you so much... You are certainly the MAN for early German marks.... I use three sites to explore German marks one of them is <gone from the internet> silberpunze.1x.de/index.php are you connected with that...it seems to be down a lot lately...I have been able to use these sites in the past to find a few identifications... I also use the University of Heidelberg's download of Rosenberg's book but am limited by my poor German Again Thank you so much... IP: Logged |
