Suomoo, hi, I was wondering if you had any further luck with an id on your handsome pot? It struck me to ask if you had gone over it with a magnifying glass/loop to see if there were any very tiny marks. Some times French silver has miniscul marks that can be a bug or animal. These have a purpose that I'm not remembering and do not have the book at hand. The French system, if your used to the English one is so obtuse! These marks could be filled with chocolate or tarnish and can look like a dent. Usually they are on a bezel or foot/lid wire. You may have already done this but I know that I have been surprised by these marks. Also, I love the fact that you have something that in this country, from the late 1600- early 1700's, only (at last count) 7 exist! IP: Logged |
