I thought id done that on my profile. That aside my name is Marcus and I live in England. My interests in silver began a long time ago when I needed to pay for my tuition fees at university. I started reading and found I could purchase objects and sell them for a profit. I am self employed now so I don't get much time to do what I used to. Although from time to time I do purchase things for my friends and myself. As you probably know it is impossible to know everything so occasionally I do come across marks that I don't recognise. I currently have this item that I cant totally identify. I would love to own a copy of "Marcas de Contrastes e Ourives Portugueses. Complementos e anotações às marcas antigas de pratas portuguesas e brasileiras pelo Eng.º Fernando Moitinho de Almeida. Vol. I. Século XV a 1887 & Vol. II. 1887 a 1950. [2 vol.]". I am sure the makers mark is probably in there, although the only copy of the book I can find is very expensive. If someone could purchase me a less expensive copy in Portugal and send it to me that would be great. I would even pay for a photocopied version. Although I am not about printing legalities so that might be illegal :-). Anyway in short, I sometimes need help identifying objects so this is the reason for my post. Marcus IP: Logged
