Thank you for the add! I have a silver basket that has been in my wife's family since WWII. The story goes, without any proof or provenance, that it was acquired (i.e. stolen) from a German officer's home after my wife's grandfather's unit raided the home. I can clearly see the German state mark (crescent and crown) and then a triangle with 3 stars that research suggests means it was actually made in Belgium for the German market by Wolfers Freres. There is also a stamp with a name that appears to have been damaged at some point. Does anyone have any additional ideas on the piece? It's always been described as a bread basket but i have no clue it's actual use. Pictures posted in gallery.
