Hello all. As you may be able to tell, I am new to this forum although I have found lots of useful information here. A while ago, my wife inherited a fair amount of silver from her father who was extremely knowledgeable about silver, and found all of his information without the use of the internet. A few weeks ago my wife asked me to figure out what was what regarding the pieces she had. Since then I have become fascinated with the stuff, between flatware, bowls, plates, candelabra., etc. and finding where they originated and who made them. I have a majority of what I have looked at identified but there are a number of them that I have only partial clues or no idea. The labels/notes that my father-in-law put on many of the items have helped and the internet has been great. I am hoping that someone can help identify some of the pieces that I couldn’t or perhaps point me in the right direction. We are not planning to sell anything right away, but may in the future. For now, I am just interested in finding out all I can about this. BTW, I haven’t found any good sites relating to Mexican makers marks, so any pointer would be greatly appreciated. I have a creamer that I believe is from Pest, Austria-Hungary. It is 800 and dates from 1872-1922. The picture of the creamer was too large to post, but I was able to upload the hallmark/makers mark. A bit hard to see in the photo, but I believe that the makers mark is an A over BA inside a triangle.
Thanks in advance. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hello and welcome! To start would you please post some overall photos of your creamer - not just the markings. An object's style is as important or sometimes more so than just the markings on it. Also, this forum is primarily so that the people who come here can share in appreciating the beauty of silver and photos are essential for this. IP: Logged |
