I'm new to the forum and am a Coin Silver enthusiast. I have been searching for John McGrew's Manufacturers' Marks on American Coin Silver for some time now with no luck. I took the chance and wrote to an old address I was able to locate, hoping he still had copies for sale. Much to my surprise I received a copy in the mail along with a note. John asked if I could share that shipping on the book is now $7.95. The book is still being sold for $40.00. He also mentioned that less than 100 copies remain and the book will not be reprinted. I hope this message helps those like me that are in search of a copy. The address I sent my inquiry to was - John McGrew, 355 Park Heights Blvd, Hanover PA, 17331. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Thanks for the tip. I brought one years ago and have used it so much that I got a second copy last year. It is a very valuable book for anyone interested in American silver. Did Dr. McGrew say anything about publishing more on the basket of flowers design? Years ago he published several great articles on that subject in the Silver Magazine. Another one I have been looking for is the one by Katherine Holland on South Carolina silver. At one time it was going to be published by December of 2020 but it is still not out. IP: Logged |

Thank you, Mudcreek. I love that book--it is so useful! (And what a delight Dr. McGrew is.) Anyone who's hesitating, I urge you to get a copy while you can. IP: Logged |
