Here is my Redfield and Rice tea set. 1870s I believe. I had the set resilver many years ago and I just love how beautifully it turned out. Set includes a large tray, Samovar, 2 tea pots, creamer, sugar and waste pot.

Thank you June! I am slow but I can get there eventually. Here is a before photo of the set was resilver. I also had the lid made that was missing for the sugar pot. It's such an interesting set that I do use!

A very lovely restoration. It may be that your set is more attractive than when it was made. IP: Logged |

Hello, Yes I am not certain if it was originally made in an "old silver" finish or shiny new silver like it is now. I like it shiny and goes with the rest of the other silver. I seem to have a love of pieces with figures on them. This set has the female figure on it and my flatware, Assyrian head, has faces on it too. IP: Logged |

Ahwt, I noticed on another post you also had some assyrian head silver. Do you collect the pattern too? I love your ice spoon! I would love to find one myself. Never seen one before IP: Logged |

Those pieces were the only ones I had and in my recent downsizing I sold them. I never have seen much of that pattern for sale and really just came across those by chance. I suppose the ice spoon had holes in it to let the melted ice flow away and not dilute your drink. Similar to why holes are in pea serving spoons. Good luck in your collecting. IP: Logged |
