[01-2655] Not quite the same but related to Dale's Trends In Contemporary Stainless Design thread, here's an unusual example of modernist stainless.
The mark is 'BONNY PRODUCTS / STAINLESS JAPAN', and they're a simple stamping with the handles dipped in green enamel paint. The stamping gives them a concave form that gives them good strength (in the photo the fork is concave-up, the knife concave-down). I'd guess circa 1970? Not really in my normal range of interests, but they were so unusual that I couldn't resist. I gather from the listing at Replacements (where it's given the pattern designation BOP1) that there's also a teaspoon, but these two pieces were all available, and the only ones I've ever seen. How about it -- any other non-contemporary modernist stainless of interest among us? IP: Logged |

Hello FWG! Try a search for Bonny Products, Inc. Lynbrook, NY. Hope this helps. Have a great day! Jersey IP: Logged |

These have an uncomfortably close resemblance to gardening implements. Except in the case of actual garden tools the practical color for the enamel is orange, red, or yellow -- something that makes them easy to spot again when the gardener sets them down among the greenery. IP: Logged |

Here is a set of 12 Modernist utensils from Expo 67. They are Japanese. Their functional ends are concave with two tines and and one sharpened edge, so each acts as a spoon, fork, and knife. The backs are marked "expo67 ashoka 3inOne". IP: Logged |
