Of all the traditional silver makers, Oneida appears to be the one that is still in business in a major way. Oneida maintains a website filled with sizzling deals and up to 68% off on our finest flatware. There is the usual Oneida practice of introducing new patterns using an old pattern name. And of old patterns with new names. I have seen at least 4 patterns named Patrician. As someone who has handled lots of Oneida, I can never understand how they can have such a whirlwind of introductions and cancellations. Nor can I understand their practice of replacing dies with new dies that are noticeably different in size. But they have been doing this since before 1910 and their customers put up with it. It is always heartening to see how Oneida presses onward. IP: Logged |
