Church (Peter) & Metcalf (Whiting) are listed in the Providence directory as early as 1826 and continue to be listed through at least 1857. Barker T Yerrinton who biographers say was a bookkeeper and engraver at Church & Metcalf begins being listed in Providence Directories with them at 13 Steeple as a jeweler in 1836 and is listed at follow on addresses with the firm until at least 1862. In the 1860 Providence Directory, the firm's name is Church, Metcalf & Co at 101 Broad manufacturing jewelers, and Henry A Church is included as a jeweler in their listings . In the 1867 Providence Directory H A & G (George) M Church are listed at 111 Broad St manufacturing jewelers. H A & GM Church is listed in Directories until at least 1871. IP: Logged |
