A James Patterson is listed in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Salem, New Jersey who is the correct age to be William Peterson's father but no James Peterson. William and Amelia R Patterson are listed in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Salem, New Jersey; William's occupation is watchmaker. In the 1860 U S Federal Census for Salem, New Jersey, William is listed as a jeweler with an apprentice jeweler named William C Harris listed in his household. William C Harris appears in later U S Federal Census's for Westfield, New York as a jeweler. William Patterson is listed in the 1880 U S Federal Census for Salem, Massachusetts. The occupation given for William and his son Henry who is still in his father's household is jewelry business. Henry Patterson is listed in the 1900 U S Federal Census for Salem, New Jersey as a jeweller. Henry W Patterson is listed in the 1901-2 Salem Directory as a jeweler at 201 E Broadway. IP: Logged |
