Nathan W Goddard appeared in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Nashua, New Hampshire as a watchmaker. Nathan's son John M Goddard appeared in the same census as a watchmaker. Nathan W Goddard appeared in the 1860 U S Federal Census for Nashua, New Hampshire as a jeweller. Nathan's sons Nathan W and Charles V are also listed as jewellers. N W Goddard & Son are listed as watchmakers and jeweler in the 1864 Nashua Directory. The same is true for 1866, 1868-9, and 1870-1. Nathan W Sr is listed in the 1872-3 Nashua Directory as a watchmaker and jeweller. His son John M is listed separately as a jeweller in the same directory. There is no Nichols W Goddard to be found by me at least in Nashua, New Hampshire in the same time frame as Nathan W Goddard.
