If he's not mentioned elsewhere, considering his fifty some years in the silversmith, watchmaking and jewelry business, here's a gentleman worth noting: Victor Doriot Jr who was born in France in about 1824 is listed in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Wythe County, Virginia as a silversmith; he is listed in the 1860 U S Federal Census for Wytheville, Virginia as a watchmaker; he is listed in the 1870 U S Federal Census for Fort Chiswell, Virginia as a jeweler; he is listed in the 1880 U S Federal Census for Goodson, Virginia as a watchmaker; and he is listed in the 1900 U S Federal Census for Bristol, Virginia as a watchmaker. Victor's sister Josephine who was born in Virginia in about 1837 is listed in the 1860 U S Federal Census for Wytheville, Virginia in their fathers household with the occupation repairing watches.
