[26-1455] I recently found a large silver tray, tea pot and milk jug (sugar bowl was missing). Anyway, its got odd marks that I just can't place. The marks are:- "Silver C.J.&Co" and there is a funny mark that looks like the pound sterling sign. Someone said it's a Chinese chop mark. Can anyone help me? IP: Logged |

Hi and welcome to the forum. You would more likely get an informative response if you take a few minutes and go back and read the guidelines for this forum at Guidelines We are just a small group of people who like silver and as you will see when you read these instructions we ask new people to please introduce themselves by sharing a little information on their interest in silver in general and why they are asking about the particular objects in their posting. Also, descriptions of markings are of little help since there are so many similar markings. It is essential that you add some photos, both clear closeups of the markings and clear photos of the overall objects. There are instructions on how to post your photos here How to post photos IP: Logged |

Sorry about just jumping in! I'm from Durban, South Africa - married with 2 small boys (6&4), a cat & 3 dogs. I'm an attorney and work for the taxman. I've been collecting seriously for about three years. I am drawn more to design than a specific genre, although I am particularly attracted to deco & nouveau silver and plate. I'm not too clued-up with technology, but I understand the need for photo's - so will try get some onto the message. IP: Logged |
