Most Jewelrer's supply stores will handle Liver of Sulfur. Check your Yellow Pages I am certain they can provide you with what you need. There are chemical suppliers that will carry a purer form of Sulphurated Potash but these tend to be more expensive. The jeweler's suppliers will often sell it in liquid or lump form. I purchase the lump form and then make a solution in an amber bottle with a tight top. There are some imported beer bottles that are sold with flip type lids like those used for cheese. I make a strong solution in the bottle and then decant it as I need to use it and at that time I dilute it. IP: Logged |

Fred, does the liver of sulfur decay slower if formed into a solution and kept in an airtight bottle (versus being kept in chunk form)? I had some that came in a small lot of silversmith's tools and supplies I got at a yard sale, and it didn't seem to work very well. I guess the box the supplies were in had been in a basement for 30 years. IP: Logged |

Paul, It is difficult to maintain the potency of liver of sulfur and have discovered that if I store it as a solution I can keep for a longer period of time and it is easier to dispense. Fred IP: Logged |
