Hi, I am on what feels like a quixotic search for DOWRY sterling flatware (1930s). Often called Oneida Dowry, but there is no Onieda mark (though it looks much like other pattens of theirs)- Just DOWRY then (little logo that looks like a State Map of New Jersey) then STERLING.

A rather nondescript pattern, not terribly heavy or impressive, but I got caught up in the emotion of trying to complete a set for my son and his fiancee for their wedding... set was started pre-WWII by my grandmother, who stopped at some point. Sentimental...

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
Ive already tried Replacements and they are HORRIBLY expensive, plus I would rather give my money to a smaller dealer who can use it more then Replacements.

If you can add me to your Want List, that would be great. I am almost ready to bag the whole thing and let them get their own silver!!

Thanks a bunch,
Jean A.

Hi,

I have some pieces of DOWRY Sterling -
No Oneida mark - date seems right -
I just found this site today, as I have been trying to find out, myself, the difference between Dowry Sterling and that by Oneida.

If you still need pieces let me know because I had planned to sell them.

I have dinner knives, teaspoons and forks.

Let me know if you still need some more - I know this is way after you posted your request,I just found the post.

I registered here to answer you

Regards,
ann
