Just a long-shot - anyone have an old beat-up copy of Tardy's they want to sell?. Ex-boyfriend's Chihuahua dragged mine off a table and ate about a quarter of my ancient copy. Thanks, Cheryl ;o) IP: Logged |

Poor little doggie. Tardy is hard to digest for man or beast! In case you don't find a used copy, the 1985 English edition has been reprinted and is generally available now for a reasonable price. Good luck! IP: Logged |

Could this be why he is the ex-boyfriend? I bought the 1985 version of Tardy recently on an online book purchase site for a very reasonable price. It's paperback, which means you will definitely want to keep it away from chihuahuas! IP: Logged |

This dog can digest anything, even Tardy's. As for the ex, can't say that the dog's the reason, but a lack of interest in controlling the thieving (but cute) little weasel is part of it. The worst part is that what's left of those thin pages are all glued together with doggie saliva (yuk), I'm slowly peeling them apart one by one. Checked prices a couple of years ago for a friend and they were pretty high, thanks for the heads up, I'll start searching online. Cheryl ;o) IP: Logged |

You may be lucky that you just got bits of Tardy all over your place. Heard of an incident where an ex got revenge by going to the partners apartment opening the letter box slot and feeding the partners dog with laxative chocolate. IP: Logged |

Funny story, but it may be apocryphal, as - even though it may only have been intended only to create a mess - it could have had unintended consequences. Lest some lurking prankster see that story and get an idea, it should be pointed out that chocolate contains compounds that are highly toxic to dogs, and could easily kill one as small as a Chihuahua! So, this would be an argument for or against. . . ? IP: Logged |

Sounds like wev's opinion of Chihuahuas is the same as my oldest brother's when my Dad was raising them years ago - sewer rats. More of a real dog person myself, but have to give the book-chewer some respect, he holds his own with my rowdy Aussie who's 6 times his size, and (bless her heart) she's a good girl about not hurting him. She'll miss the brat when he moves away, but he can come visit (with supervision). Must say anyone using an innocent animal as a tool for revenge needs some serious counciling. Hey, Dragonflywink - there's one for sale on that ol' auction site. It's not even into double digits yet. You've got about four days, if you still need it. Good luck. IP: Logged |

At this point in the discussion I have lost track of what the "one" for sale is, a copy of Tardy or another Chihuahua. This has been one of the more entertaining posts. IP: Logged |

Excellent suggestion, Fred. This dealer usually has an extensive inventory of hard to find silver titles, which can be ordered from his website. IP: Logged |
