I have been looking for a tablespoon sized birdback with bright cut engraving which would display nicely in a large lighted display case. I am looking at a birdback spoon in excellent condition but without bright cutting but would rather have the added b'cutting. Name of Silversmith is not an issue. Please let me know if there is one out there and available. If one is available include photos front and back. Thanks. [This message has been edited by argentum1 (edited 06-03-2008).] IP: Logged |

This link is a fair one: An Odd Bird-Back to Chew On There are most likely some forum members with some really nice examples. Searching the forums should produce more and explanations of how these are done if needed. IP: Logged |

Thanks but I am still confused. The term bird - does that refer to the way cup and handle "meet" IP: Logged |

No. It is the decoration (in relief) stamped on the back of the bowl - birds of course - usually just one bird. IP: Logged |
