How does a person go about finding values for their pieces? My bosses want me to sell this tea service they bought from an estate sale. They want me to find a value without paying for an appraisal and sell it for them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks IP: Logged |

This is simple problem to solve - list the service on eBay for 10 days starting at $0.99 and let the market decide, as it is the only appraiser that can give you actual market value for free. if you start the listing at a higher value or put a reserve on it, you will lose some potential bidders and consequently lower the final price. *It's risky, but everyone's looking for a bargain and the more bidders, the greater the market pressure to win. Also, no consignment expense is incurred. I do advise you to research, describe and photograph the service extensively as the more detail the bidders have, the more truly they can value the service.
