A part time silver dealer I sometimes deal with has come up on a copy of Belden book, he wants a pretty penny for it, but if someone is in need of one, I can put you in touch ...

Hi! I've found it for 650 on several booksellers sites. Jersey IP: Logged |

I went to a flea market sale 20 miles south of where I live this summer. A paperback dealer had a few CD's that had a handwritten label 'Beldins Silver Stuff'. He wanted 10.00 for the three so I took a chance. Back home I held my breath and put one in the player. God must love me as all three are copies of the book. That turned out to be my big find of the decade. I thought about listing two of them on that auction site but as it is copyrighted that would possibly get me into trouble. I gave one of them to a friend because it is so expensive. I have in the past called Winterthur and asked if it was going to be reissued but the person did not know. IP: Logged |

Called the library at Winterthur just before Christmas. They do not know of any plans to reissue the Belden book. If they do it will take at least a year just for the planning phase. IP: Logged |

UMI Books on Demand, a Bell and Howell Company, printed copies of this book for a short time. They indicated that it was "an authorized facsimile made from the master copy of the original book." The copy was made by the xerographic process and the final product is not a clear as the original. As a result some of the marks in the UMI copy do not provide the clarity needed to make an identification of a questionable mark. As the original book has become expensive I normally use the reprint for a first look and just go to the original in cases of doubt. Their copies were never authorised and threat of legal action forced them to desist. IP: Logged |

A search at the World Catalog will find a library close to you that has the book. 247 libraries have a copy. Someday Google may find a business plan that satisfies both the owner of the copyright and the user and finish their planned coping of research books. IP: Logged |

Due to the cost of the book there are few libaries which allow circulation. Most libraries will not allow circulation and two in Ohio will only allow it to be used in a reserved reference room. I sold my copy but copied it before selling. In an earlier posting I mentioned that I had bought 3 disc at a flea market which had the book on it. 30 of the pages are out of sequence but for $10.00 it was a fantastic buy. IP: Logged |
