Re: the Dutch spoons, these may help. From W. Koonings' book on 19c Dutch silver. Seems to suggest they may be early 19c. there are also illust. of marks consisting of crowned letters in various cartouches. IP: Logged |

The Dutch have been making fakes for centuries, I have been told the practice is legal in Holland. While I don't have the pieces in front of me, I believe I would not have photographed them if they were 19th century fakes. I usually go by the patina, if they don't have 2 hundred years worth of patina I either sell them as new or say I don't know their age. IP: Logged |
