I'm trying to track down some information on this set, consisting of 6 spoons and 6 forks. It is a Pointed Antique-type pattern with applied scrolly decoration. Each piece is marked "G * M" only. The pieces are very heavy. The spoons have drops, and the fork tines have saw marks. Any ideas on date, maker, or origin?

Do you think they are solid silver or silverplate? Any suspicions about country of origin? IP: Logged |

They are solid silver. I don't really have ideas about country of origin...when I first saw the set I thought I recalled seeing a similar style on a Scandinavian piece. But that's only a vague recollection, not a solid lead. IP: Logged |

shape and form don't look quite Scandanavian. Possibly a custom made pattern? IP: Logged |

I'm kind of at a loss about the set, so I would be interested in hearing any ideas, even if it is just wild speculation... IP: Logged |

It has been over a year since I posted my question about this set. I still have the pieces and still do not know anything about them. Since many new members have joined the Forums in the past year, I thought I would "bump" this post to see if it could stir any more discussion a second time around.
