Patrick Vyvyan Posts: 640 Registered: May 2003	posted 10-30-2003 09:50 AM I fired off a quick e-mail to the Dutch Assay Office or "Waarborg". Here is their kind reply: The marks are Dutch. The lion changed from 2 to II in 1953 and represent a silver fineness of 835 parts per thousand. The letter "N" is from the year 1923, the letters differ in style only. The Head, a minerva head, with the "M" in the hat represent the Assay Office of Schoonhoven, there were 19 in total during the last 190 years.
