I have a serving spoon and a ladle and I am trying to identify the marks.

The spoon has only two marks: 12 in a rectangle and what appears to be an "oak leaf" or a branch also in a rectangle.

The ladle has an oval "cup" lined with ???. It has four marks, all in rectangles: the first is the name "S Plewin'ski" (I'm pretty sure they are S and P); 12; "Wa" in slanted script; and a hand in the form of the "boy scout oath", index and middle fingers extended, and thumb across holding down the ring and pinky fingers.

Can anyone help?

The oak leaf was used by Dutch silversmiths, among others. So was the 12 mark, which is the silver quality. Perhaps if you posted pictures we can help more.

Not sure about the other one. Poland, maybe?

I will post photos later and will post the link at that time.

Paul's reply that the mark for the ladle is Polish makes sense as my grandmother was from Poland . Does anyone know where I can go to find out more about Polish silver? I am hoping to use the silver marks as a means to find out where in Poland my grandmother came from.

I have posted photos of the pieces in question, a serving spoon and ladle, at the following address:

Please help me identify their origins.
